This gallery software Jalbum makes web albums of your digital images. JAlbum aims to be the easiest to use and most powerful tool in this category – and free!
With JAlbum, no extra software is needed to view the albums, -just your web browser. Unlike “server side” album scripts, JAlbum albums can be served from a plain web server without scripting support and thanks to JAlbum’s built in web server, you can even share your albums straight from JAlbum. You can also share your albums on CD-ROM.
There is not gimmick, no catch and it is spam-free and cost-free. If you don’t have a website to share your album then no problem. It even has a features that lets you share the directory of your choice right from your computer. You can then give the url to your friends to view the albums you have generated on the fly. The only thing is that you have to make sure your firewall is configured to allow traffic through a certain port.
I use this tool to generate the photos on my site and I love the ease of its use and the capability to download different skins with different capabilities. For example I generate different kinds of skins for different albums depending on what mood the photos warrant. For example I did an album compiled with summer pictures with an awesome song from Chris de Burgh called Lebanese Nights the other day and sent it to a friend. She said she cried because of how touched she was. They were all her pictures from last summer
